Walking with Rory – The 50mm Edition

I’ve not been able to do a lot with my camera lately due to the lockdown. It has mostly just sat in my bag in the corner of my room catching dust. So, I thought a good way to get some use out of it would be to take it on my daily walks.
So I came up with a little project for myself to give me a reason to take my camera out with me on walks using only one lens at a time. Because walking is meant to be relaxing, not painful.

What I aim to do with this series is take you on a journey with me via photographs of hopefully some interesting scenes taken from my walks. Each entry will be feature a different lens and a different route that I take on my walk.
Now that that’s all out of the way, I present to you, “Walking with Rory – The 50mm edition”

As you can probably guess from the title, for this walk I opted for the 50mm lens for this walk. It’s the only fixed lens I have and it’s small so I figured it would make for a good starter lens. However, that does mean that I don’t have the luxury of zooming.
The location for the walk was a local country park not too far from me. This country park is pretty large so there’s a lot of ground to cover. I usually take about an hour on my walks and I always try to take a different path when using the park for my walks.

The park has a few nice lakes that you’re allowed to fish in provided you have a licence (and you can’t keep the fish). There’s also a Nature Trail, providing a semi-guided route around a section of the country park.

The park is one of my favourite places to go for daily walks. It’s calming to walk around and each walk I take through it leads me to discover a new area of the park.
